Sally Hansen "Color That Cares" Campaign Benefiting DKMS

The Power to Save a Life is at Your Fingertips

    (June 10, 2010 -- Los Angeles, CA)

THINK: Color that cares-for your nails and for others.

WHAT IT IS: Color for a cause. It's not every day you get the opportunity to help save a life when you get a manicure. But with Sally Hansen and DKMS, the world's largest bone marrow donor center, lifesaving is at your fingertips. DKMS works to expand marrow donor registries by recruiting donors across every race and ethnicity to provide leukemia and blood cancer patients with the best available donor match. To help draw attention to their mission to save lives through donor recruitment, DKMS partnered with Sally Hansen to kick off a multi-city "Color That Cares" campaign.

For the culmination of the campaign, DKMS and Sally Hansen hosted an event in Los Angeles at the Courtyard at Hollywood & Highland on June 10th, where the nail authority attempted to break the Guinness World Record for most manicures done in a day and celebrity guests Michelle Trachtenberg and AnnaLynne McCord were on hand to help launch the initiative. The Color that Cares program offered complimentary manicures featuring the new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure and encouraged visitors to register as donors for DKMS. Fans unable to make it to Los Angeles can get involved online by uploading digital photos of their own Sally Hansen manicures to the Sally Hansen Facebook page to benefit DKMS.

To raise awareness about the Color That Cares program, COTY'S Sally Hansen and DKMS debuted a print advertising campaign this past April, highlighting the crucial cause that the program benefits. Coty's funding of the campaign will assist in initial donor registration and blood and marrow typing costs.

Sally Hansen's new Complete Salon Manicure provides all 5 steps of a manicure in one bottle, combining the benefits of a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, rich color and top coat in a single multi-tasking polish. The patented formula features the most advanced lacquer technology, concentrated high-intensity color, and encapsulated treatment spheres of Vita-Care Technology.

ABOUT THE COTY-DKMS LINKED AGAINST LEUKEMIA PARTNERSHIP

In October 2006, Coty Inc., a global beauty leader and the world's largest fragrance company, joined DKMS, the world's largest non-profit bone marrow donor center, in the fight against leukemia by establishing the Coty-DKMS Linked Against Leukemia partnership. Led by CEO Bernd Beetz, Coty has leveraged its strong celebrity partnerships to raise awareness of the disease and help recruit thousands of donors around the world. Additionally, Coty has assisted DKMS in establishing independent DKMS organizations in the Americas and Poland with plans to open offices elsewhere in Europe in the coming years. Leukemia, one of the leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide, personally affected the Coty family when the wife of longtime Coty Chairman Peter Harf succumbed to the disease in 1991.
